TABLE OF CONTENTS |
Contacts can be added to Agent CRM in three ways: manually, via a quick-add option or in bulk using a CSV file.
To successfully add a contact, you must provide at least one of the following mandatory fields:
1. First Name
2. Last Name
3. Email Address
4. Phone Number
Hint: Not including email addresses may create duplicate records
Add a Contact Manually
Contacts can be added manually, one at a time, using these steps:
1. Select Data from the top menu bar
2. Go to Contacts tab
3. Click New Contact
4. Enter the contact information
5. Click Save
Quick Add a Contact
Basic details on contacts can be added from the All Contacts page, using these steps:
1. Select Data from the top menu bar
2. Click Contacts
3. To the left of the All Contacts table, click + Quick Add
4. Enter the contact's information
5. Click the ✓ to save each data point
Mass Upload Contacts through a .CSV File
Large groups of contacts can be uploaded through .CSV Files, using these steps:
1. Select Data from the top menu bar
2. Go to Contacts tab
3. Click the V icon next to the New Contact button
4. Select Upload Contacts
5. Click Download Template
6. Add Contact Data to the Template (Optional)
Standard Contact template contains a sample record that you will need to remove before uploading populated data file. Please use it as an example to structure your data
Attention: This step is optional. You may choose to upload your own data file, such as one exported from another CRM system
7. Analyze and Deduplicate Contact Data
Contact Email is a primary key field and it is a required attribute during the upload. Please ensure that each contact email is unique. Review the entire dataset for duplicates before confirming the upload
Note: Failing to remove duplicate email addresses or records may result in data loss, as Agent CRM will update only with the last record values in the data file
8. Apply Format to selected contact data fields and Save the file
Ensure that phone numbers are formatted precisely as specified in the template. Similarly, dropdown list values (e.g., Status fields) in your file must match the values in the Agent CRM field. Save the CSV file before uploading
Attention: Failure to update required attributes to specified format will result in Agent CRM data loader process to mark record as an exception and skip record during the upload
9. Choose a .csv file to Upload your data
10. Confirm or Update data mapping options to upload data
Map CSV attributes with corresponding fields in Agent CRM and select an option for Conflict Resolution, then click Upload
Hint: If you are using a standard template and not your custom data file, mappings between file fields and Agent CRM contact fields will be set automatically
11. Verify Results of the data upload process
Agent CRM will send you an email confirmation with a link to the file which will show record import status or exception
